Jason L. Ott is an associate of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate/commercial consultation and business services, bankruptcy/workout, corporate formation and transactional services, and business litigation.

Prior to graduating from law school, Mr. Ott worked as a law clerk at Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He also served previously as a summer intern in the Chambers of the Honorable Mary Jane Bowes of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. As a recipient of the Honorable Joseph H. Ridge Scholarship and a National Merit Scholar, Mr. Ott received full academic scholarships both to Barrett College and to Duquesne Law School.

Professional Accomplishments:

  • 2017 David B. Fawcett Pro Bono Award (awarded based upon a combination of hours dedicated to pro bono work and the results obtained in performing that work)

Representative Matters:

Mr. Ott has provided specific successful, results-oriented legal services to clients by:

  • Consulting corporate clients on daily business and legal matters, including document and agreement negotiation, drafting, and analysis
  • Protecting the interests of both debtors and creditors in a wide range of bankruptcy/workout situations
  • Assisting lenders in loan due diligence, documentation, and facilitation, including distressed asset funding and subsequent workout and debt collection
  • Facilitating corporate formation and planning as to the innumerable issues involved as to the same
  • Effectuating purchases and sales of businesses in various contexts and through multiple different types of transactions
  • Assisting in corporate planning in many diverse situations, such as in consulting and participating in the planning and negotiation stages of the development of such businesses and in providing general corporate counsel for various ongoing business operations
  • Providing corporate consulting in the commercial law context, which has included significant negotiation, business facilitation, document drafting, and research for large manufacturing and financing companies throughout Pennsylvania and in multiple other states
  • Analyzing and drafting various business contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, general commercial agreements, and credit facility arrangements and documentation, to assist clients in daily business operations
  • Engaging in business litigation to protect the interests of various corporate and commercial clients in multiple different contexts through federal and state court proceedings throughout the United States
